Driver arrested after hitting 15-year-old riding bicycle in Warner Robins

A 15-year-old boy was struck by a car while riding his bicycle early Tuesday in the 100 block of Briarwood Drive in Warner Robins.

He was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health, and was listed in stable condition, according to a Warner Robins police news release.

The driver, who fled the scene of the 6:55 a.m. incident, was arrested later by Warner Robins police.

Joshua Lewis Barham, 26, of Fairburn, faces charges of serious injury by motor vehicle, hit and run, failure to report an accident with injuries, reckless driving, failure to render aid, driving with a suspended license, possession of a narcotic and obstruction.

Two of the charges -- serious injury by vehicle and narcotic possession -- are felonies, according to the release.

Officers later located the vehicle abandoned at an apartment complex off North Lake Drive. The vehicle had sustained heavy damage to the front windshield, according to the release.
