Sky Zone Trampoline Park and Big Air Warner Robins celebrate their grand openings Saturday. Xtreme Air Mega Park was the first trampoline and adventure park to open in Warner Robins last fall.
Each park offers a variety of attractions.
All offer large concession areas with snacks geared for kids, vibrating recliners for relaxing, and party rooms for special occasions like birthday parties.
Sky Zone
Sky Zone Trampoline Park at 815 Russell Parkway is celebrating its grand opening with free Sky socks for the first 1,000 guests, a 120-minute open jump for $10, a live DJ, door prizes and giveaways.
Doors are expected to open at 10 a.m. after a ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony at 9:30 a.m.
“We’re honestly super excited,” said David Milby, who with his wife, Sandra, and his brother and sister-in-law, William and Crystal Milby, own the Sky Zone franchise rights for Houston County.
“One of the reasons we decided to do this three years ago is because we have younger kids and we saw a need for … an outlet for kids to get off of TV, to get off of their phones and just get out there and play, sweat and just get that exercise they didn’t even know they were getting,” Milby said.
The trampoline park quietly opened its doors about two weeks ago to give the staff some real-world training ahead of the grand opening, Milby said.
Twenty different attractions are offered at the trampoline park, including a zipline, boulder balls, an air basketball court and slides.
On the race slide, four people can go down together, while the launch slide sends its rider up in the air to land on an air mattress, Milby said.
“The kids absolutely love that,” Milby said of the launch slide. “For some kids, it’s a little bit scary at first, but then once they go down one time, they’re totally hooked.”
In renovating the former Badcock Home Furniture & More and transforming it into the Sky Zone Trampoline Park, the Milbys brought back family entertainment to the 65,000-square-foot building.
The site was previously home to Johnny G’s Fun Center that offered go-karts, laser tag, bumper cars, mini-golf and more. Initially named DJ’s GalaxyQuest, Jonny G’s Fun Center was in operation for 16 years.
The hiring event for the trampoline park was emotional for the Milbys.
“It’s been such a struggle and such a difficult process for those three years, and just to be able to have the staff, to see them there in the park, their excitement, their energy, just kind of feeding that back to us,” Milby said.
“After so long you get to a point where you almost feel like, is this going to happen? But then to see everything come to fruition, it’s just been amazing. God has opened all the right doors for us again, so we’ve been grateful for that.”
The Milbys are known in Middle Georgia for Visiting Angels of Central Georgia with multiple locations. The franchise business provides non-medical, comprehensive home care for older adults.
Sky Zone hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. The number is 478-888-1741.
Big Air
Big Air Warner Robins at the Houston County Galleria in Centerville opens for the first time 10 a.m. Saturday with grand opening specials, giveaways and prizes.
Limited-time offers include $5 off the regular monthly membership, $65 off birthday parties plus five extra jumpers free if booked online, and $100 off the Big Air Elite players pass, an unlimited, all-inclusive annual pass.
The trampoline park offers 50 attractions, with franchise owner Dustin Pelletier asked to predict which attractions he expects will be the most popular.
“Oh my gosh, that’s so hard,” said Pelliter, a native of Greenville, S.C. “It’s like asking what’s (your) favorite flavor of ice cream? There are so many different ones.
“My favorite is the tube slide. It’s so much fun. It’s really safe. Kids’ … eyeballs are popping out of their head when they’re going down. It’s exhilarating.”
The dual zip line, the ropes course and the rock climbing wall are also a lot of fun, he said.
Little kids will probably enjoy the “Lil’ Air” and “Lil’ Ninja,” which are part of a play structure that’s geared for children 6 and under that Pelletier said is the largest in the state.
“It’s amazing,” he said. “There’s slides. There’s obstacles. There’s trampolines. There’s a tunnel system to climb through. It is really epic.”
The 40,000-square-foot Big Air Warner Robins in the former Conn’s HomePlus location next to Crunch Fitness is Pelletier’s fifth franchise location.
Wanting to try something different, Pelletier sold his family’s concrete business to open his first Big Air in Spartanburg, S.C., in 2016.
“We just kind of grew to all our other locations,” Pelletier said. “We found it just a tremendous joy to be able to employ all these people and see all the young hearts and be able to pour into them.
“And also get to be a part of everyone’s special occasions and just be a great fun place that the community gets to take advantage of … We try very hard to make sure everyone has fun and a memorable time.”
His other Big Air franchise locations include Greenville, S.C.; Columbus, Ohio; and Auburn, Wash., a suburb of Seattle.
Big Air hours are expected to be 3-8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. for toddlers only and 1-8 p.m. for all ages on Wednesday and Thursday, 3-10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and 1-7 p.m. Sunday. The number is 478-219-7656.
The first trampoline park to open in the city
In late October, brothers Todd and Brad Buckelew of Dothan, Alabama, opened their third Xtreme Air Mega Park at 705 Osigian Blvd. in Warner Robins. The 40,000-square-foot, three-story trampoline park is known for its more than 15,000 square foot inflatable that Buckelew described as a giant bounce house with slides, an obstacle course, and a host of inflated attractions. Xtreme Air hours are 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and 1-7 p.m. Sunday. The number is 478-333-1624.
