A Warner Robins resident won the top prize playing the Big Georgia Raffle scratch-off ticket in the Georgia Lottery.

The $2 million winning ticket was bought at the Hop In convenience store at 1104 Ga. 96 in the Kathleen community of Warner Robins, according to a Georgia Lottery news release.

The winnings were claimed Tuesday.

Proceeds from scratch-off games as well as all Georgia Lottery games benefit education.

Since lottery sales in Georgia began on June 29, 1993, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has contributed more than $30.6 billion to the state for education, according to the news release.
