Warner Robins animal rescue seeks donations to avoid permanent closure
A Middle Georgia animal rescue says it may be facing closure after its lease wasn’t renewed.
Paws in Middle Georgia, a nonprofit that rescues animals from around Houston County, said in a Facebook post it has just two months to find a new facility after the lease on its current location wasn’t renewed.
The rescue did not disclose why the lease wasn’t renewed.
Paws in Middle Georgia has been in the space since 2021, and is raising money to be able to purchase its own permanent facility, according to its donation page. The rescue has raised more than $9,000 of its $30,000 goal since the fundraiser launched in July.
“Instead of starting over somewhere temporary, we’re hoping to finally purchase a building of our own — a permanent place where we can grow, rescue more animals, and never have to move again,” the rescue wrote on Facebook. “We’ve been saving and searching, but the success of this fundraiser will determine what’s possible.”
The Telegraph reached out to the rescue on Monday for comment, but the group didn’t respond prior to publication.
