Why a Peach County school briefly went under lock down with police presence
A police chase ended at Peach County High School and caused a temporary school lock down Friday morning, according to the school’s Facebook.
Peach County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to pull over a vehicle on Highway 49, but it continued driving.
“The vehicle ... pulled into the parking lot of PCHS where the vehicle was then stopped by deputies,” the school said on Facebook at 8:51 a.m.
The school went into a “precautionary lock down until the vehicle stop was resolved,” the school said.
At least four deputy patrol vehicles were seen in the school parking lot, according to Facebook user Rowena Tanner.
The lock down was brief, then the school resumed to normal functions.
