Slim Chickens to open this summer in Warner Robins. Macon, Perry stores coming, too
Warner Robins will get the first Middle Georgia Slim Chickens location, an Arkansas-based fast-casual chain known for its chicken tenders and multiple sauces.
The Warner Robins location is expected to open in late July or early August, but its not the only one coming to the area, according to reports. The new restaurant at 4030 Watson Blvd. is part of 20 new Slim Chickens in the works across Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia — including in Macon and Perry, according to QSR Magazine.
The expansion is part of a deal with a multi-unit operator that is one of the largest franchisees in the Southeast. Other named locations include Cornelia, Georgia; Asheville, North Carolina; and Greeneville, South Carolina.
“We really like where the brand is heading and are thrilled to diversify our portfolio in the Southeast and expand the brand’s footprint in more communities across Tennessee, the Carolinas, and Georgia,” the operator told QSR. “Slims has the winning formula, appealing to both families and busy professionals with its diverse menu, endless sauce offerings, and intentional customer service rooted in its commitment to southern hospitality.”
The Warner Robins store, which is already built, is expected to be the first of the 20 to open.
In addition to hand-breaded tenders, Slim Chickens also offers wings, sandwiches, mac bowl meals, wraps, salads, and chicken and waffles. Tenders are also served grilled. Slim Chickens is also known for its sweets, including a chocolate brownie pudding jar.
Slim Chickens boasts more than 270 stores across the U.S. and United Kingdom.
Other developments
The Slim Chickens in Warner Robins is on the same 4.6 acre development as Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q and 7 Brew Coffee, which both opened earlier this year.
A Fuzzy’s Taco Shop also had been planned for the development, but that fell through.
Matthew Davis, the Albany-based developer, said he subdivided that spot, and a Take 5 Oil Change took one half while the other half is still available for lease.
Davis said he expects Take 5 Oil Change to open before Slim Chickens.
Meanwhile, a Texas Roadhouse is expected to be built next to Jim N’ Nicks, with a site plan having been submitted by a different developer to the city of Warner Robins earlier this year.
