A man died in a motorcycle crash after colliding with a truck Monday night in north Perry, officials said Tuesday morning.

James Edward Gibbs II, 36, of Perry was driving a Yamaha motorcycle down Langston Road at the intersection of Sugar Creek Trail when he collided with an eastbound truck at about 9:30 p.m. Monday, according to Corporal Mark Heberlig of the Houston County Sheriff’s Office.

Gibbs died at the scene of the crash, Houston County coroner James Williams said. The driver of the truck was not injured in the wreck.

It was unclear what might have caused the collision Tuesday. Heberlig said the Houston County Sheriff’s Office would provide more details when available.
