A Warner Robins man died Thursday after sustaining severe burns in an apartment fire.

Just after midnight on Jan. 17, the Warner Robins Fire Department responded to a fire in an apartment unit at the Richmond II Apartments on Feagin Mill Road.

Responding units found 55-year-old Warner Robins resident Trey Holland, who had suffered severe burns.

Medical personnel airlifted him to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta for treatment.

Holland died late Thursday night, two days after the fire.

Deputy Chief Chris Cannady, with the Warner Robins Fire Department, told the Telegraph that the fire started in the living room of Holland’s unit.

He said the two apartment units on either side of Holland’s unit sustained some water damage while responding units extinguished the fire, but the majority of damage affected Holland’s unit.

Cannady stated that the Warner Robins Fire Department is still working to determine the cause of the fire and that the investigation is ongoing.
