Robins AFB to close major entrance for month of repairs. Here are the alternate gates

Robins Air Force Base is closing the Russell Parkway Gate 14 for a month of repairs.

From Oct. 8 to Nov. 7, the major base entrance will undergo asphalt and concrete repairs needed due to “previous damage from a water utility break and pavement condition degradation.”

The base said this closure will cause a “major change” to morning and afternoon commutes.

Two additional gates will be opened to help reduce congestion during the day.

MLK Jr. Gate 5 will be available for inbound and outbound traffic weekdays from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the Museum of Aviation’s back gate will be open only to outbound traffic weekdays from 3-5 p.m.

Watson Boulevard Gate 3 will still be open 24/7 and Green Street Gate 1 will be open 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day.

An alternate entrance to the Robins Air Force Base will be available behind the Museum of Aviation.
