Those with an affection for antiques and all things vintage may want to step into this inviting new store in Warner Robins.

Vintage Junktion, at 1275 South Houston Lake Road, is owned and operated by sisters Dana Henderson and Vicki Schmick, with the help of Henderson’s husband, Bill.

The upscale vintage store blends a variety of vendors offering antiques and vintage clothing, jewelry, furniture, home decor and more, like handcrafted soaps and beard balms.

Some of the vendors once operated their own stores but now sell their wares in Vintage Junktion, including Deanna Rivers of Abreanne’s, Barbara Griffin of Timeless Treasures Antiques and Rhonda Wells of Robin’s Nest.

Other vendors include an estate liquidator, a custom furniture builder and a seller of custom blinds.

Beginnings

Those familiar with vintage shops may remember Vintage Junktion when it was in operation from 2013 to 2016 at 1736 Watson Blvd. in Warner Robins.

Henderson owned and operated the shop with her business partner and friend Karen Johnson for three years until Johnson died in 2016 and Henderson decided to close the store.

“It kind of took the fun out of the store,” Henderson said of her friend’s death. “She really loved the store.”

The Hendersons next took the business on the road, setting up at various vintage markets across the southeast from Florida to South Carolina.

Schmick, who also had worked at the store, encouraged Henderson to reopen the shop, and the sisters celebrated the grand opening of Vintage Junktion on South Houston Lake on June 15.

“It’s been exciting for me,” Schmick said.

Bill Henderson built shelves and such for the store and put up all the merchandise.

“I just help out,” he said. “She (his wife) tells me where to put stuff.”

Dana Henderson interjected, “He’s the main reason for the store.”

Schmick echoed, “We couldn’t have done it without him.”

Prior to opening the former Watson Boulevard location in November 2013, Henderson had a booth at an antique mall for many years.

Before that, Henderson taught elementary students while Schmick worked at a church.

The sisters, who both love antiques, started with wood crafts such as bird houses and gourd dolls.

Vintage Junktion is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The number is 478-957-8767.
