Popular Bonaire dessert shop up for sale. ‘We will teach you everything we are doing’
The owners of a popular dessert shop in Bonaire have put their business up for sale, with plans of moving their family to Florida.
Tai and Tram Nguyen, owners of Sweet of Life, plan to keep offering their freshly made Italian gelato, fruit tarts, Italian rum cake, white truffle moose, Boba milk tea, Vietnamese coffee and other goodies right up until they close.
But they’re no longer accepting orders for their large decorative wedding cakes, for which they’re especially known, with the last one to be made Feb. 19.
They’re moving to Florida because a family member’s health mandates a warmer climate.
“We are going to miss this place,” Tram said. “We have a lot of sweet customers.”
The move is bittersweet for the couple who had been dreaming of opening their own business in the United States.
Before immigrating to America, Tai had a small shop in Vietnam. Sweet of Life opened in Bonaire in May 2020.
A new start
But they plan to open a Sweet of Life once they’ve settled in their new home and they find the right location for their business.
Right now, they’re looking at the Tampa and Miami markets.
They’re asking $80,000 for the shop at 778 Ga. 96, Suite 130, which includes all new equipment they purchased to open the space that they lease in the Kroger Marketplace.
“Our restaurant has everything from hood kitchen, refrigerator, freezer, dough sheeter, Bravo Gelato machine — which are good for the restaurant,” Tai posted on Facebook. “You can save the time for build up as well as paperwork from city/county.
“Our restaurant is the best choice. Come and change your own name, and run your business …We will teach you everything we are doing to you if you are interested. In the meantime, we’re still open.”
Tai also pledged to take care of their customers in the post.
“Don’t worry if you have pre-orders from us, we are responsible to take care of your orders and prepare your cakes on your schedule,” he said.
The shop is open from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
If you’re interested in purchasing their shop, you can reach Tram at 678-702-4042 or Tai at 678-429 4029.
