Convicted rapist, armed robber from Warner Robins charged in Byron Subway stickup

One of the suspects in an armed robbery earlier this month of a Subway restaurant in Byron has been arrested.

Adrian Decarlos Brown, 41, of Warner Robins, was being held on a charge of armed robbery in the Peach County jail, Byron police posted on Facebook.

Brown has a criminal record that includes rape, armed robbery and aggravated assault with intent to rape, Georgia Department of Corrections online records show.

His accomplice, who has not yet been identified, was still being sought Wednesday, said Byron police Sgt. Melanie Bickford.

June 14, Brown and another man came into the Subway at 9:21 p.m. Brown brandished a two-tone, semi-automatic pistol and demanded cash, Bickford said.

The accomplice served as the look-out during the armed robbery, Bickford said. The sole employee in the restaurant at the time of the armed robbery was not harmed.

Brown and his accomplice had been watching the restaurant for about an hour prior to robbing it at closing, Bickford said. The getaway vehicle was a 2020 Honda Accord Sport.

U.S. Marshals with the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and Houston County deputies from the warrant division arrested Brown at his Warner Robins residence without incident Tuesday.

Clothing worn by Brown and the other suspect in the robbery was recovered at Brown’s residence. Brown is a registered sex offender, according to the Houston County sex offender registry.

Brown was released from prison in August 2016, according to Georgia Department of Corrections online records. He served 19 years for convictions in Bibb County for an Aug. 14, 1996 armed robbery and aggravated assault with intent to commit rape and a June 13, 1996 rape.

Macon Regional Crimestoppers posted a video of the armed robbery on its Facebook page.

Anyone with information is asked to call Byron police Sgt. Melanie Bickford at 478-956-2493, or Macon Regional Crimestoppers, or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
