86-year-old woman found dead in wrecked car down a Peach County ravine, coroner says

An 86-year-old woman was found dead in her wrecked car Tuesday morning down in a ravine in Peach County, the coroner said.

Sallie Brinkley, of Warner Robins, likely died immediately upon impact the previous morning when her car went off Russell Parkway where it dead ends at Housers Mill Road, Peach County Kerry Rooks said.

“You couldn’t see her car from the roadway,” Rooks said.

The wreckage was discovered by some workers Tuesday morning, he said.

Brinkley had gone to get prescriptions filled at Robins Air Force Base on the morning of the wreck, Rooks said.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating.
