Bibb County man killed in weekend motorcycle crash on Sardis Church Road near I-75

A 24-year-old Lizella-area man died Sunday when the motorcycle he was riding ran off Sardis Church Road in south Bibb County, officials said.

Austin Ryan Hammock died at the scene of the crash near a QuikTrip gas mart just east of Interstate 75, Coroner Leon Jones told The Telegraph.

Sheriff’s officials said in a statement that the crash happened about 1:30 p.m. when Hammock apparently “lost control” of the motorcycle and “left the roadway.”
