Teenager dies in late-night crash when car slams into tree along Zebulon Road in Macon

A teenager died Thursday when the car he was driving on Zebulon Road in northwestern Bibb County ran off the road and crashed into a tree, officials said.

The victim, Cory McKenzie Mull, 17, of Macon, was at the wheel of a Mazda3 compact car when “he lost control of the vehicle and went off the road,” Bibb County sheriff’s officials said in a statement.

The crash happened shortly after 11 p.m. in the vicinity of Barrington Hall and Colaparchee Road west of Interstate 475.

Mull, who according to Coroner Leon Jones lived on nearby Estes Road, died at the scene.

No one else was hurt, officials said.
