Restaurant employee robbed at gunpoint

A restaurant employee was robbed at gunpoint early Sunday as he was walked to his vehicle, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The robbery happened at about 1 a.m. in the parking lot of Mikata Japanese Steakhouse at 2792 Riverside Drive, according to a sheriff’s office release.

The restaurant had closed and the employee was walking to his vehicle when he was approached by a masked man with a pistol. The gunman ordered the employee to open the restaurant, which the employee did.

The gunman took some bottles of liquor from the bar and took the employee’s wallet, then fled out the back door.

The suspect was described as a black male in a red hooded sweatshirt and a black stocking mask.
