Program gives students inside look at government
Applications are being accepted for a youth leadership program that gives students an up-close view of local government.
Macon-Bibb County is accepting applications through Aug. 12 for the Youth Commission, open to students in the 10th-12th grades, according to a release. Each month, students will “learn more about Macon-Bibb departments and partners and their roles in our community.”
The program also offers the chance to go on out-of-town trips. In previous years participants have visited Atlanta, Savannah, Suwanee and Washington, D.C.
Interviews for the program will be held Aug. 15-19, and orientation is scheduled for Aug. 30.
