Strong to severe storms possible Monday
Much of Georgia is expecting showers and thunderstorms Monday and some could reach severe levels.
The National Weather Service posted a hazardous weather outlook for northern and central Georgia through Monday night.
A series of disturbances in the upper levels of the atmosphere is expected to interact with moist and unstable air to kick up showers and thunderstorms.
The advisory urges: “Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors.”
The greatest risk for thunderstorms comes between noon and 10 p.m..
Gusty winds of up to 50 mph are possible with frequent lightning and heavy rain in the stronger storms.
