Free school supplies, haircuts, screenings and police tips

As Baldwin County school students prepare to head back to class, the Milledgeville Police Department wants to keep them safe.

Officers are joining the Back to School Bash sponsored by the Baldwin County School System and the Milledgeville Housing Authority.

Free school supplies will be given out from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday at Eagle Ridge Elementary School at 220 ABC North, according to a news release from the Milledgeville Police Department.

Free haircuts and health screenings also will be available at the event.

The police will be demonstrating car seat safety and offering tips to counter peer pressure and bullying.
