Feedback sought on Rosa Parks Square design
The public and Macon-Bibb County commissioners are being asked to take part in improvements to Rosa Parks Square.
Opinions are being sought for ideas that could make the downtown park become more usable. On July 28, a design public meeting will allow people to talk with the members of the design firm HGOR and the Macon-Bibb Urban Development Authority.
That meeting will take place from 5:30-7 p.m. in Macon-Bibb County Government Center, 700 Poplar St., according to a release.
Another meeting in which county commissioners will provide their feedback is scheduled for 3 p.m. July 26 inside the Government Center.
“This is a chance for our designers to hear from commissioners how they envision the future of Rosa Parks Square and how to attract people to it on a regular basis,” Alex Morrison, executive director of the Urban Development Authority, said in the release. “There is a great deal of history to be learned from the plaques, markers and monuments already in the square, and by creating a vibrant space, we will be exposing people to the lessons of our past.”
