I-16 lane closure planned near Ga. 96 in Twiggs County

Travelers headed east on Interstate 16 can expect delays Thursday in Twiggs County.

Contractors for the Georgia Department of Transportation are expected to close an eastbound lane near Ga. 96 at exit 24 from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday, according to a release.

Workers will be installing light poles near the Ga. 96 bridge construction project, if the weather allows.
