East Macon man found dead, days after death

The body of a 69-year-old man who’d been dead for several days was discovered early Wednesday afternoon in his east Macon and the Macon-Bibb County Coroner is seeking his next-of-kin.

Thomas Barlow didn’t come to the door when his landlord knocked after not seeing him for several days, Coroner Leon Jones said. The Macon-Bibb County Fire Department had to break down the door of the house at 1494 Jeffersonville Road to check on Barlow’s welfare.

Barlow is the seventh person to be found — apparently unnoticed for a while — deceased from apparent natural causes in their Bibb County homes this year.
