Macon woman is not missing; contacted sheriff’s office
A 24-year-old woman reported missing by her mother Monday contacted the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday.
Earlier this week, Kalandria Hightower’s mother, Cassandra Rhodes, had told the sheriff’s office that she had not heard from her daughter in two weeks and that Hightower suffers from schizophrenia, according to an earlier news release.
The sheriff’s office received a call about 5 p.m. Thursday, and the caller said Hightower was not missing and that she wanted to meet with a deputy, according to a release sent Thursday. Deputies responded to an address on Sylvian Drive, and Hightower said she was fine. She said she and her mother had a disagreement and that she intentionally has not contacted her mother, the release said.
Hightower does not live with her mother, the release said.
