A 24-year-old woman who reportedly has schizophrenia was reported missing by her mother Monday, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Kalandra Hightower, of Macon, was last in contact with her mother, Cassandra Rhodes, about two weeks ago, the release said. Rhodes told authorities her daughter has schizophrenia, a severe mental illness that interferes with a person’s ability to perceive reality and think clearly.

Hightower is described as a black female estimated to be about 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds, the release said.

Anyone with information about Hightower’s whereabouts is asked to call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
