Two men shot in Macon

Two men were shot in Macon early Sunday after a fight broke out at a large gathering.

The shooting happened about 4:45 a.m. at 2066 Melton Avenue, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office release.

Deputies found Tavares Williams, 26, of Macon, at the scene shot in the right leg. A few minutes later Walter Archer, 18, of Macon, walked into the emergency room at the Medical Center, Navicent Health.

Williams is listed in stable condition and Archer is in serious condition.
