Fire closes Logan’s restaurant in north Macon

Firefighters arrived at Logan’s Roadhouse ahead of the Thursday lunch rush at the north Macon restaurant.

Just before 11:30 a.m., a fire damaged the front of the eatery at 3933 Arkwright Road.

About a half-dozen customers evacuated the restaurant along with employees, said Colin Cook, the service manager for Logan’s.

Macon-Bibb County fire Lt. Ben Gleaton said the fire started in the outdoor smoking section near the bushes at the front of the restaurant, which is not far from the east side of Interstate 75.

“It’s going to be an accidental fire,” Gleaton said.

Crews had to pull down part of the wall to make sure the flames had not spread into the building, which exposed some wires, Gleaton said.

Cook said it could be Friday morning before Logan’s can be cleared to reopen.
