Janitor charged with stealing from assisted living facility residents

A 26-year-old Macon woman who worked cleaning rooms at an assisted living facility is charged with stealing debit cards, money and identification from residents, according to an arrest warrant from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Keshia Michelle Gibson, who worked at Agape House of Middle Georgia, was arrested Tuesday morning in a room at the Palm Tree Hotel on Riverside Drive. Gibson was found with goods she allegedly purchased with stolen money as well as financial and personal information of residents, according to a release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Gibson is accused of withdrawing more than $2,500 from one resident’s account, according to the warrant. She is also accused of stealing drivers’ licenses from the rooms of two residents living at the Harrison Road facility.

Gibson remained in jail Wednesday night on a $14,500 bond.
