Roadwork to close section of Second Street

A section of Second Street in Macon will be closed for the next couple of months, according to a news release.

Starting Wednesday, Second Street will be closed from Ash Street to the other side of the hump bridge while a road connection project takes place. The new section will run from the intersection of Telfair Street and Little Richard Penniman Boulevard, the release said.

Construction is expected to be completed in about 60 days. The hump bridge will not reopen after the project is finished, the release said.
