Pineview man dies in I-75 crash in Houston County
A Pineview man died early Saturday in a crash on Interstate 75 in Houston County.
Curtis Duane Barnett, 54, was driving a 2006 Ford F-150 on I-75 south at about 1:40 a.m. when the truck, which was pulling a boat trailer, drifted off onto the west shoulder at mile marker 127, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
The truck struck the end of a guard rail, causing the vehicle and trailer to flip and roll along the guard rail, according to the state patrol.
Barnett was pronounced dead at the scene, located south of Perry. No passengers were in the vehicle.
Two traffic lanes were closed for about three hours.
After the crash, a semi-truck struck Barnett’s vehicle, causing minor damage to the semi-truck, according to the state patrol.
The crash remains under investigation.
