Telfair County assault suspect caught

Telfair County Sheriff Chris Steverson thanked the public Thursday after the capture of an aggravated assault suspect.

Deputies and McRae-Helena police were looking for Ramello Deeds, 20, who is charged in an aggravated assault on Willow Creek Lane in McRae that resulted in a man being air-lifted last month for “advanced medical treatment,” according to the Telfair County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

Ramello was wanted for almost a month until Steverson posted the bulletin on social media.

“A big thanks to our Facebook detectives for turning up the heat,” Steverson posted after Ramello’s arrest.
