Gas main break stalls Thursday evening traffic on Ga. 247
A portion of Ga. 247 is blocked Thursday evening after construction workers reportedly struck a gas main, Macon-Bibb County spokesman Chris Floore said.
Motorists are advised to add extra time to their trip because of the detours or avoid the area altogether.
In addition to some side streets, Ga. 247 is closed between the two ends of Feagin Road, which is near the Middle Georgia Regional Airport, Floore said. Atlanta Gas Light Co. is on the scene working to fix the break, Floore said about 7:30 p.m.
