Macon man struck by car on April 23 dies Sunday

A Macon man died Sunday from injuries suffered when he was struck by a vehicle on April 23.

Israel Perez, 32, 3875 Rice Mill Road, was pronounced dead at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Medical Center, Navicent Health, said Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.

Jones said Perez was walking along the edge of Rice Mill Road when he was struck by a vehicle at about 6 p.m. No charges were filed, according to Jones.

He said that was the fifth pedestrian fatality of the year in Bibb County, with 12 auto fatalities for 17 total traffic deaths on the year.
