Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia present trophy to The Back Burner

The Back Burner, located at 2242 Ingelside Avenue, will be presented with the Girl Scout Cookie Culinary Contest’s first place award for the second year in a row on Tuesday.

Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia hosted the contest at the end of February 2016. Five Middle Georgia restaurants participated in the bake-off, but The Back Burner’s Tres Leche Cake, which included Savannah Smiles cookies, took the top prize.

Winners were selected through a combination of votes from a judging panel and the general public, according to the release.

Other participating restaurants were Edgar’s, Dawson’s Kitchen, The Rookery and The Prime Palate.

Five other councils of Girl Scouts also hosted a contest in different regions of the state. Click here to see those winners.
