Forest Hill Road down to one lane for parts of Thursday, Friday
Traffic on Macon’s Forest Hill Road will be reduced to one lane and controlled by workers with flags for portions of Thursday and Friday as crews install a sewer line, according to a Wednesday news release from the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Road cutting and excavation in front of 671 Forest Hill Road will start at 6 p.m. Thursday and is expected to finish by 6 a.m. Friday, the release said. Another closure is set for Friday from noon to 3 p.m.
A GDOT contractor will cut a trench in the road and excavate debris, then cover the hole for the sewer line with a steel plate Thursday, the release said. On Friday, concrete will be poured to cap the trench which will be covered with a plate for the weekend while the concrete hardens. All plates will be removed Monday morning, the release said.
