To our readers:

Today we introduce a redesigned newspaper and updated digital sites to reflect your changing reading habits.

In print, our goals are to provide stories with more context and to emphasize our enterprise and watchdog coverage – content that no other local media are likely to provide. On Thursday, we’ll debut Insight, a page that will focus on a deeper look at national and local topics, plus more analyses and interesting takes on the news. Insight will appear each Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

We’re also providing layers of information for readers who scan, including highlights on top stories and more Page One summaries of key news stories and features inside the paper.

A more modern design includes a new typeface (though the font size has not changed), more white space and bigger photos to enhance storytelling and provide more visual impact.

Our digital platforms, including Macon.com, are also being enhanced. Besides a cleaner look and easier navigation, there will be more videos, maps and interactive graphics, bigger photos and breaking news throughout the day.

Coupled with our social media efforts — do follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram if you have not already — we’ll provide news when you want it and where you want.
