Digital, print redesign to debut Wednesday

To our readers:

Beginning Wednesday, The Telegraph will introduce a redesign that includes enhanced features for our digital and print readers.

The way readers consume news has changed dramatically. Some readers still take their morning paper with coffee; others like their news on the go, with national and local websites -- including macon.com -- providing breaking news to their desktops, phones and tablets throughout the day. Our redesign aims to better serve you no matter how you want your news delivered.

An updated macon.com will make it easier to navigate to the content you want to see or read. We plan bigger photos, more video, better headlines and stories with summary information for those who like to scan.

We're adding an In-Depth section that will showcase top breaking national and international news as well as analyses and enterprise reporting from our Washington Bureau.

Readers today want to be engaged as well as informed. We plan interactive maps and graphics, and we will better promote ways for you to share content and information with us.

We also plan print enhancements. The newspaper is being redesigned as a better showcase for our best enterprise, watchdog and explanatory journalism while preserving other popular content such as sports and features.

Sectioning will be different during the week, but the amount of local content we provide is not changing. The front page typically will present the best two or three stories displayed so that you can get the news quickly or read more deeply. Page One also will include quick summaries of top stories or other content you will find throughout the paper.

We're adding a page called Insight on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It will be home to deeper reads on topics of local and national interest and important, plus occasional reflections on the news from different perspectives.

On launch day, you will find an online guide to our redesign and updated features. Because we value your opinion, we'll welcome your feedback.

And thank you, as always, for reading The Telegraph.
