Family sought after another death in Bibb County

The Bibb County Coroner's Office is asking for the public's help with finding the family of a 43-year-old woman found dead in her Macon apartment Friday morning.

The body of Phyliss Gantt was discovered by an exterminator in a housing project in the 1800 block of Swan Drive, Coroner Leon Jones said. Swan Drive is near Hartley Elementary School.

The woman appeared to have died of natural causes and has an extensive medical history, he said.

Jones said Gantt makes the sixth person who has been found dead in their Bibb County residences this year who appeared to die of natural causes unnoticed. Jones did not know Friday how long Gantt may have been dead.

Anyone who knows Gantt or her relatives is asked to call Jones at 256-6716.
