Brothers search for sibling missing since September 2015

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help with locating a 56-year-old man who has been missing since September 2015, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

Michael Spears has not been seen since he was released from the Bibb County jail on Sept. 22, 2015, his brother told authorities on March 10, when he reported Spears missing.

Other family members told investigators Spears has schizophrenia and was last known to be living in Eastman, according to the release. Spears's two brothers suspect he may be in a mental health facility somewhere, the release said.

Spears, a black male with short, graying hair, is estimated to stand 5 feet 9 inches tall and weigh approximately 160 pounds. He has a close-cut beard and mustache, the release said.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Spears is urged to call the Bibb County Sheriff's Office at 751-7500, or call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
