Milledgeville police holding youth Explorer program

Young people interested in learning more about law enforcement are invited to join the Explorer program of the Milledgeville Police Department.

Youths between 14 and 21 years old who can pass a juvenile and criminal background check are invited to pick up applications at Friday's Relay For Life event between 6 p.m. and midnight at Baldwin Braves Stadium or at police headquarters at 125 West McIntosh St.

The program, which teaches the purpose, mission and objectives of peace officers, will be held every other Tuesday beginning May 10, but applicants must be interviewed before being accepted into the program.

Interviews begin May 3.
