Rising Ocmulgee River closes parks Friday
Amerson River Park and the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail closed Friday due to the quickly rising Ocmulgee River, according to a news release from the Macon-Bibb County government.
The river has risen several feet since midnight, and more rain is expected Friday afternoon and evening. The park and trail will remain closed until the river recedes and crews are able to assess the damage and clean those areas, the release said.
