Veterans benefits help coming to Milledgeville

The Macon Vet Center's mobile facility for assisting military veterans with benefits will be in Milledgeville on April 12.

The Mobile Vet Center will be at the Georgia Department of Labor's Milledgeville Career Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to a news release.

The mobile center will be in the parking lot of the career center at 156 Roberson Mill Road. The center provides counseling, outreach and referral services to help veterans adjust to civilian life.

Jerry Long, a readjustment counseling technician, will be on hand to answer any questions. Phil Williams, a representative of the Georgia Department of Veterans Services, also will be there to assist veterans in applying for benefits.

Career center staff members will be available at the event to assist veterans in finding a job.
