Amerson River Park has new hours thanks to daylight saving time, according to a news release.

The Macon park is now open seven days a week from 7:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

"We want people to enjoy the park as much as possible, and with the sun setting later, it gives them more of a chance after work to take a walk, ride their bicycles, or let their children play on the playground," Parks and Beautification Director Stephen Lawson said in the release.

Amerson River Park was closed for more than a year in 2014 and 2015 to complete a major improvement project there that was funded by $5.5 million in federal grant dollars.

To rent any of the facilities at Amerson River Park, call the Parks and Beautification Department at 803-0484.
