A motorcyclist was taken to the hospital Thursday morning after being thrown off the bike in an accident in the 1400 block of Gray Highway.
Shortly after 8 a.m., Benjamin Sinclair, 81, of Twiggs County was turning into the Murphy Express from the northbound lanes.
David Blanton, 61, of Gray, was riding his 2015 Harley Davidson toward Macon in the southbound lanes.
"I didn't see the motorcycle, and when I turned, he hit me on the back end, back there," said Sinclair, who was not hurt. "I near about made it by."

Blanton landed on the pavement, and the motorcycle hit the side of a 2002 Ford F-250 pickup stopped in the turn lane.
The motorcyclist was alert and talking to rescuers when he was taken to Medical Center, Navicent Health, according to a release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office. Blanton, a ride captain and an assistant state captain for the Patriot Guard Riders, has a broken leg and ankle, according to a family member.
Bibb deputies are investigating the accident, which knocked off the back bumper of Sinclair's Toyota Corolla.
Sinclair was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
"I'm just sorry to my heart," he said before his son drove him away.
Southbound traffic detoured into the nearby shopping center parking lot for about 30 minutes.
