Arbor Day celebration to take place Friday in Macon

Several Macon-Bibb County agencies are coming together Friday in celebration of Georgia's Arbor Day, according to a news release.

The Macon-Bibb County Parks & Beautification Department, Macon-Bibb Tree Commission and Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful will take part in the 10 a.m. event at Little Richard Penniman Park, at the corner of Penniman Boulevard and Telfair Street. In celebration, cedar and oak trees have been planted by the Parks & Beautification Department.

The department has planted 185 trees since last July as it approaches its goal of 250 trees for the fiscal year, the release said.
