Baby & Toddler Expo to be held in Macon

An event billed as "family-friendly" and "mother approved" is scheduled for next week in Macon.

United Way of Central Georgia is hosting the 2016 Macon-Bibb Baby & Toddler Expo on Jan. 23, according to a news release. The free event will take place 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Tubman African American Museum at 310 Cherry St.

The expo will be an opportunity to help current and future parents identify local resources, services and agencies that promote healthy pregnancy, birth and parenting services, the release said.

Also, there will be baby races and an attempt to build the largest diaper cake -- a faux cake made of diapers. All diapers collected for the "cake" will go to qualified families and early learning centers immediately following the event. Attendees will have opportunities to win several prizes.
