Zebulon Road cleanup set up for Saturday in Macon

Zebulon Road in Macon will be site of an organized cleanup Saturday.

People are invited to help pick up trash along a section of Zebulon Road beginning at 11 a.m. A large trash bin will be set up at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 6611 Zebulon Road.

Supplies such as gloves and garbage bags are being donated by Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful, and the Georgia Industrial Children's Home will be among those helping out, said Macon-Bibb County resident Jeff Battcher, who organized the event.

Battcher said this will be a chance to clean up an area where litter is a major problem.

"In between Lamar Drive up to Barrington Hall, it's just awful. I've never seen so much trash," he said.
