Body found in burned Monroe County home

Monroe County fire personnel found a resident dead after a fire in the northern part of the county Saturday.

The Monroe County Fire Department responded to 837 Weldon Road just before 9 p.m. to put out a fire there. After the fire was put out, 22-year-old Brian Ezra Baxter was found in the burned home and pronounced dead on the scene.

Both the fire department and Monroe County Sheriff's Office are investigating the cause of the fire.
