Downtown Macon street closing for New Year's Eve party

As Macon-Bibb County prepares to ring in 2016 at Rosa Parks Square, part of First Street will be closing at 6 p.m. Thursday.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office reports deputies will be blocking off First Street from Poplar to Cherry Street three hours before the event that begins at 9 p.m. across from the Macon-Bibb County Government Center.
