18-year-old killed in Bibb County accident

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal accident that occurred just before 3:30 a.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 621 Foster Road.

Murray Nixon, 18, of Macon, was killed when she and a friend, 18-year-old Mary Wade of Macon, were attempting to push a 2009 BMW 325i out of grass and mud on the church property. The vehicle rolled back on Nixon, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a Bibb County Sheriff's Office news release.

The car had become stuck after Wade drove off the parking lot and into the grass, the release said.

Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call the sheriff's office at 478-751-7500 and to leave a message for the on-call accident investigator.
