Man dies in Monroe County crash

A Monroe County man died in a one-vehicle crash Saturday morning.

Melvin K. Johnson, 66, died when the Toyota Tacoma he was driving ran off the road, struck a tree and overturned, according to a sheriff's office release.

The accident happened at about 11:46 a.m. on Taylor Road. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.
